# How to use these tools
Short, practical explanations of what each tool measures and how to act on the result.

### Reading a rank result
A rank check returns your position for one keyword, in one location, at one moment. Three things change that number: the keyword wording, the location, and time. Check weekly rather than daily, a few positions of movement is normal noise; a sustained ten-place shift is signal.

### Choosing keywords worth chasing
Search volume alone is a trap. A term with 200 searches a month and clear buying intent beats one with 20,000 from people who will never contact you. Read volume alongside difficulty and CPC, a high CPC usually means someone is making money on that term.

### What authority scores actually tell you
Domain authority is a third-party estimate, not a Google metric. It is useful for one thing: comparing sites against each other. A 45 against a competitor’s 20 means something. A 45 in isolation means very little.

### Why local business schema matters
Schema does not directly raise your rank. It removes ambiguity, stating your name, address, hours and phone in a format search engines parse without guessing. Make sure it matches your profile exactly; a mismatch is worse than no schema at all.

### Getting more reviews without nagging
The biggest drop-off in review requests is friction. "Search for us on Google and leave a review" loses most people. A direct link or a scannable code that opens the review box in one tap converts far better.

### Writing titles that survive the SERP
Google rewrites roughly half of all title tags. Reduce the odds by keeping titles under about 60 characters, front-loading the term people actually search, and not repeating the same keyword twice.
