GMBapi Review

An independent look at GMBapi: what it does, what it costs, what users actually rate it, and how it compares with Local SEO Tool.

Pricing and ratings checked August 2026. Ratings move, so treat them as a snapshot. Where a score could not be confirmed we say so rather than estimate.

Quick verdict

Very cheap at scale. Profile management only.

The cheapest way to manage Google Business Profiles per location at real scale, with a free version and a two week trial, which is more than most of this category offers. The limitation is scope rather than quality. Profile management and reporting is the product. Rank tracking, reviews, citations and location pages are somewhere else.

What is GMBapi?

GMBapi is a Google Business Profile management and reporting platform priced per location, with the rate falling as the estate grows.

It is built for organisations with a lot of locations that need profiles maintained and reported on efficiently, rather than for agencies doing full local SEO.

The free version and two week trial make it unusually easy to evaluate compared with the enterprise end of this market.

Our rating: 3.9 out of 5

Strong at bulk execution across large estates. It assumes you already know what to change, and no ratings could be confirmed.

This is our own assessment, not an average of user reviews. It is scored on verified third party ratings, pricing transparency, whether there is a location minimum, how much of the job one purchase covers, and what the entry price buys. The user ratings we could confirm are listed further down, with sources.

GMBapi features

Every feature below, and what it actually does rather than what the marketing calls it.

Bulk profile management

GMBapi is built around doing things to many profiles at once. Where most tools present one profile at a time, this one starts from the list and applies changes across it.

That shape suits a particular buyer. If you manage dozens or hundreds of locations, the bottleneck is not knowing what to change, it is applying a change without spending a day on it. This is the tool for that problem rather than for deciding what the change should be.

The trade off is that it assumes you already know. There is little here that tells you which locations need attention, which is a different job that measurement tools do.

Best for: Large estates where the work is execution rather than diagnosis

Bulk updates

Hours, attributes, descriptions and other fields changed across a selection of locations in one action, rather than profile by profile.

The value is that the job actually finishes. Editing forty profiles by hand reliably stops somewhere in the middle, and the branches left behind are invisible until a customer arrives at a closed door.

Holiday hours are the case where this pays for itself. Applied late or partially, they produce exactly the kind of complaint that becomes a one star review about being misled.

Best for: Estates applying the same change everywhere, especially seasonal hours

Posting

Google posts published across locations from one place, which at estate scale is the difference between posting happening and posting being planned.

Three channels and twenty branches is sixty posts by hand. That multiplication is why posting stops at scale, and why bulk publishing is a genuine operational feature rather than a convenience.

Best for: Estates where per branch posting has quietly stopped

User management

Roles and access across a team, so who can change what is defined rather than assumed.

At estate scale this is the feature that matters most and demos worst. When two hundred people can technically edit a listing, the question stops being how to make a change and becomes who is allowed to.

Best for: Organisations that need an answer to who changed this and when

Reporting, setup and support

Reporting across the estate, with setup and support included rather than sold as an add on.

Included onboarding is worth weighing. API led tools carry more setup cost than their pricing suggests, and a platform that absorbs that is making a real commitment rather than a discount.

Best for: Teams without the internal capacity to run an integration themselves

GMBapi pros and cons

Pros
  • Genuinely cheap per location at scale, from roughly 4 to 7 euro per location per month.
  • A free version and a two week trial, which is rare at the enterprise end.
  • Setup and support included rather than charged separately.
  • Straightforward bulk profile management across a large estate.
Cons
  • Profile management and reporting only. No rank tracking, reviews, citations or location pages.
  • The value case needs scale. At a handful of locations the absolute saving is small.
  • You cannot tell whether profile work moved your position, because nothing measures position.
  • Little independent rating data, so there is less external signal to check against.

We could not confirm a rating on any of the four platforms. For a product aimed at large estates that is not unusual, since those buyers rarely leave public software reviews. Use the free version and the trial, which is the better evidence here anyway.

Checked August 2026. We do not publish a score we could not confirm, which is why some rows say not found.

How GMBapi works

  1. Connect the estate

Bring every profile into one account.

  2. Use the free version or trial first

Two weeks free, which is a fair way to judge fit.

  3. Bulk update details

The main day to day job it handles.

  4. Schedule posts

Keep profiles active across the estate.

  5. Report

    Profile performance across locations.

  6. Add rank and review tools separately

    Neither is covered here.

Top alternatives to GMBapi

The three tools people most often weigh against GMBapi, what each does better, and where each is weaker. There is a fuller list in our GMBapi alternatives comparison.

Uberall vs GMBapi

An enterprise presence platform aimed at the same estate scale, though it will not sell below 25 locations and does not publish pricing.

Where Uberall is stronger

  • A much wider publisher network beyond Google
  • Reputation and local pages in the same platform
  • Established governance for large organisations

Where GMBapi is stronger

  • No 25 location minimum blocking smaller estates
  • Focused on Google rather than spread across publishers
  • Setup and support included rather than quoted

More detail in our Uberall review and Uberall alternatives.

Yext vs GMBapi

The other enterprise option. Listings distribution at scale, sold annually with 12 to 24 month minimums.

Where Yext is stronger

  • The widest publisher network in the category
  • Strong developer tooling and integrations
  • Established at very large scale

Where GMBapi is stronger

  • No annual lock in of the kind Yext requires
  • Simpler if Google is the only profile that matters to you
  • Less commitment before you know it works

More detail in our Yext review and Yext alternatives.

BrightLocal vs GMBapi

A per location platform from $39 to $59, aimed at the market below enterprise. The practical alternative for a mid sized estate.

Where BrightLocal is stronger

  • Rank tracking, audits and citations that GMBapi does not cover
  • Published pricing you can budget against
  • Better client facing reporting

Where GMBapi is stronger

  • Bulk operations at estate scale are stronger
  • API access for teams that want to build on top
  • Better suited when execution volume is the problem

Local SEO Tool overview

We built Local SEO Tool because the same pattern kept repeating across this category. Features split across tiers, a location minimum that rules out smaller businesses, or a year long contract for software you wanted to try for a fortnight.

So it is one plan with all 42 tools on it, priced per location rather than per person, starting at one location, with a three day free trial and no contract. That is the whole commercial model, and it is on the pricing page rather than behind a call.

Local SEO Tool features

Six groups, 42 tools, all on the one plan.

  1. Rank and visibility

Grid rank tracking across your area, service area tracking, local keyword research, competitor tracking and AI visibility checks.

  2. Profile management

Every location in one place, bulk edits, profile scoring, smart tasks, brand consistency checks and edit alerts.

  3. Posts and automation

Scheduled Google posts, a media queue, a dripfeed that does not run dry, social scheduling and Zapier alerts.

  4. Reviews and reputation

One inbox across every location, drafted replies, review requests with follow up, low rating alerts and a review widget.

  5. Reports and white label

Client ready reports on a schedule with your logo, portfolio and multi location views, and full grid exports.

  6. Grow and convert

A site builder, store locator, a real page per location, business schema, review QR codes, citations and analytics.

The full list is on the tools page.

Where we are not the answer
  • Newer than the names below, so there is less third party review history to read.
  • Not an enterprise procurement product. If you need a named account manager and a signed MSA, the enterprise vendors are built for that and we are not.

How to choose between them

  1. Check which plan holds the feature you want

Not the website. Open the pricing page and find the tier the feature actually sits on. In this category it is often not the entry one.

  2. Check the minimum and the notice period

A location minimum decides whether you can buy at all. A notice period decides how long a wrong decision lasts.

  3. Insist on trying it

A trial answers the only question that matters, which is whether your team still opens it in month three. A demo does not.

  4. Price it at double your size

Per location pricing compounds and credit models scale with use. Work out the figure at twice your current locations before signing.

Final verdict

The cheapest way to manage Google Business Profiles per location at real scale, with a free version and a two week trial, which is more than most of this category offers. The limitation is scope rather than quality. Profile management and reporting is the product. Rank tracking, reviews, citations and location pages are somewhere else.

If what you want is large estates that want GBP management and reporting cheaply per location. then GMBapi is a reasonable buy and you should go and try it.

If you would rather have the whole local SEO job on one plan, at one price, with no tiers and no contract, that is what we built. See the pricing, or look at all 42 tools first.
