What this tool does

The business description is one of the few free-text fields you fully control. It will not lift you up the rankings on its own, but it is what a searcher reads when deciding whether you are the right kind of business for them.

Google rejects descriptions containing URLs, promotional offers or all-caps shouting. Most rewrites fail on those rules rather than on quality.

How to use it

1

Describe what you do, who you serve and where.

2

Generate a draft inside the 750-character limit.

3

Cut the marketing adjectives and keep the concrete facts.

4

Paste it into your profile and check it is accepted.

Worth knowing

Lead with what you actually do and where you do it. Save the awards and the founding year for later in the text — the first sentence is the part most people read.

Questions

How long can the description be?

750 characters. Aim for 600 to leave room and to avoid awkward truncation in some views.

Can I include keywords?

Naturally, yes. Stuffed repetition risks rejection and reads badly to the humans it is meant for.

Why was my description rejected?

Almost always a URL, a phone number, promotional pricing, or excessive capitalisation. Remove those and resubmit.
